Wendy Oliver - Owner and Director

Wendy Oliver - Owner and Director

Specialism: Corrective Exercise, Pre and Post Operative Rehabilitation

I am extremely passionate about the human body and find it incredible how the health and fitness industry influences our habits, beliefs and lifestyles physically and mentally. Large health clubs have a function but I believe for many people they misguide and mislead, often resulting in personal goals not being achieved.

I opened In Touch Studios in September 2010 believing that the health and fitness industry had lost its direction by becoming a machine for financial gain, caring less for how people exercise to the point where their exercise programmes could be doing them more harm than good. There is so much more to health and fitness than hours of ‘endurance’ on machines that restrict our body of movement. Its important for us to understand how our bodies should and like to move. We are all different, and this is what I aspire to help people achieve. Having spent many of my professional years working alongside physiotherapists, chiropractors, osteopaths and orthopaedic surgeons, I have achieved a full understanding of working with injury rehabilitation and specific strength and conditioning training. Before opening In Touch Studios, I worked hard to establish a high-standard mobile personal training service in and around Bristol.

When I’m not working I love to train. My favourite sport is triathlon and its components. I also love to travel. The world is there to be seen and I believe that there is so much to learn from the way others live, and to savour the beauty of what we don’t have around us everyday.

David Woods - Personal Trainer

David Woods - Personal Trainer

Specialism: Nutrition and Corrective exercise

Having been in the industry for over 15 years David brings a wealth of experience to the team, including experience of competing in both rugby and martial arts.

David specialises in effective weight management, nutritional advice, exercise for lower back pain, sports conditioning and corrective exercise. He enjoys putting clients through their paces using free weights, kettle-bells, power clubs and suspension training. Using the work of fitness professional Alwyn Cosgrove as an inspiration he is sure to achieve results for in touch clients.

David brings motivation and energy alongside fun, effective and cutting edge workouts. He believes that with the right attitude, anything is possible.

I love how training makes me feel and I want to help as many people as I can to achieve their goals and potential.

James Clynes - Personal Trainer

James Clynes - Personal Trainer

Specialism: Strength and Conditioning

James has an advanced understanding of the human body in relation to exercise and the processes that occur whist training.

After leaving the Army where James developed a healthy passion for health and fitness, it seemed a logical progression for him to enter the fitness industry as a personal trainer, which is where he has now worked for the last 6 years.

Bringing a sparkling personality to the team, James delivers precise training plans that are fun but challenging, using functional apparatus and unique collaborative movement patterns. When not working James enjoys martial arts and outdoor activities such as climbing and kayaking.

Christian Cunningham - Personal Trainer

Christian Cunningham - Personal Trainer

High Intensity Interval Training and muscle gain

Before joining the In Touch Studios team of experts Christian was a full time fire fighter. He came into the fitness industry because he is passionate about teaching and educating individuals on how to look after their bodies and live life to the full. He specialises in weight loss, High Intensity Interval Training and muscle gain.

Christian has also competed at an international level in trampolining and reached a high standard in martial arts. He uses his faith and spiritual disciplines to draw upon for inspiration and motivation and brings high intensity, challenging and fun workouts to In Touch Studios.

Théa Payne

Théa Payne

Specialism: Core strength, balance and body control

Théa brings a combined background in gymnastics coaching and teaching younger people. She offers a creative and dynamic approach to her personal training, presenting varied and joyful workouts for clients focusing on balance, core strength and control. Théa blends this with her passion in helping educate young people in the importance of exercise for health in everyday life.

In her youth, Théa competed in gymnastics at an international level and also competed at South East County athletics. These days she concentrates on climbing, hiking and running as well as skiing and snowboarding.

Théa has recently returned from living and teaching in Spain, where she developed a passion for the language and culture, acoustic guitar, live music and salsa dancing. She is also an accomplished photographer and hula-hooper.

Jenny Fletcher - Personal Trainer

Jenny Fletcher - Personal Trainer

Specialism: Injury prevention and rehabilitation

Bringing a wealth of knowledge to the ‘in touch’ team, Jenny has 8 years experience of working with injuries as a Sports Massage Therapist and Personal Trainer. She has worked for the University of Bristol Sports Medicine Clinic, with Olympic athletes for the English Institute for Sport at Bath University, and at the London Paralympics in the Athlete’s Village.

As a youngster Jenny’s focus was Ballet and Modern dance, this sparked her interest in the human body, exercise and maintaining an active lifestyle. She has competed in numerous National Ballet competitions, running events and duathlons and currently enjoys road biking and yoga too.

Jenny’s well-rounded, yet gentle approach to exercise and health enables her to work with clients using massage, movement and functional resistance exercises. Her main focus is to help individuals better understand their bodies, preventing injuries and unhealthy habits.

When Jenny is not working she enjoys travel and exploring new surroundings

Small steps make big change – don’t try to change everything in your life at the same time. Focus on changing one thing which is potentially holding you back/ detrimental in some way, and do it to the best of your ability before trying to take on anything else.

Jessie Jane

Jessie Jane

Specialism: Hill Sprints and tug of war

Jessie is the In Touch Studios mascot. She is the adorable, but energetic dog. Jessie welcomes everyone with playful paws and her job is to love you and ask if you would like to play.

She loves to go out on long woodland runs with her mummy, lie in the sun chewing sticks whilst listening to Pink Floyd tracks and nuzzle up to anyone who is willing to give her a cuddle.
