Wendy Oliver

Wendy opened in touch studios in September 2010.  She believes that the health & fitness industry has lost its direction by becoming a machine for financial gain, caring less for how people exercise to the point where individual’s exercise programmes may be doing them more harm than good.

Having spent many of her professional years working alongside physiotherapists, chiropractors, osteopaths and orthopaedic surgeons, Wendy has achieved a full understanding of working with injury rehabilitation and specific strength & conditioning training.  Before opening in touch studios, Wendy worked hard to establish a high-standard mobile personal training service in and around Bristol.

“I am extremely passionate about the human body and find it incredible how the health and fitness industry influences our habits, beliefs and lifestyles physically and mentally.  Large health clubs have a function but I believe for many people they misguide and mislead, often resulting in personal goals not being achieved.  There is so much more to health and fitness than hours of ‘endurance’ on machines that restrict our body of movement.  Its important for us to understand how our bodies should and like to move.  We are all different, and this is what I aspire to help people achieve."

When Wendy is not working she loves to train, her sport is triathlon and its components, she also enjoys socialising with family and friends and travelling!  “The world is there to be seen, I believe that there is so much to learn from the way others live, and to savor the beauty of what we don’t have around us everyday”.

James Clynes

After leaving the Army, James had a lot of interest in health and fitness, so it seemed a logical progression to enter the industry, where he has now worked for the last 5 years.

James has an advanced understanding of the human body with relation to exercise and the processes that occur whist training.  

Bringing a sparkling personality to the team, James delivers precise training plans that are fun but challenging, using functional apparatus and unique collaborative movement patterns. When not working, James enjoys martial arts and outdoor activities such as climbing and kayaking.

Specialism: Strength and Conditioning


David Woods

David specialises in effective weight management, nutritional advice, exercise for lower back pain, sports conditioning and corrective exercise. Having been in the industry for over 15 years he brings a wealth of experience to the team, including experience of competing in both rugby and martial arts.  He enjoys putting clients through their paces using free weights, kettle-bells, power clubs and suspension training, using the work of fitness professional Alwyn Cosgrove as an inspiration, he is sure to achieve results for in touch clients.

David brings motivation and energy alongside fun, effective and cutting edge workouts.  He believes that with the right attitude, anything is possible.

Specialism: Nutrition and Corrective exercise


Amy Norris

Amy has a passion for exercise and nutrition. She has a desire to help others feel the benefits and to reach their full potential. Having been a client herself and being a keen cyclist and runner Amy understands what clients need and takes this into account when designing programmes and creating workouts.

Delivering fun, challenging training sessions, she also brings great humour and empathy. Amy is qualified to advise on weight-loss programmes. In addition, she has an advanced qualification in pre and post natal exercise.

Christian Cunningham

Before joining the in touch studios team of experts, Christian was a full time firefighter. He came into the industry because he is passionate about teaching and educating individuals on how to look after their bodies and live life to the fullest. He specialises in weight loss, high intensity training and muscle gain.

Christian has also competed at an international level in trampolining and reached a high standard in martial arts.

He uses his faith and spiritual disciplines to draw upon for inspiration and motivation and will bring high intensity, challenging and fun workouts to in touch studios.

Specialism: High intensity interval training & muscle gain  


Jessie Jane

Jessie is the in touch studios mascot.  She is the adorable, but energetic puppy.  Jessie welcomes everyone with playful paws and her job is to love you and ask if you would like to play.

She loves to go out on long woodland runs with her mummy, lie in the sun chewing sticks whilst listening to Pink Floyd tracks and nuzzle up to anyone who is willing to give her a cuddle.
